Official: Florenzi undergoes successful operation in Rome – his estimated recovery time

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have confirmed that Alessandro Florenzi has undergone surgery on his knee and is expected to be out for around a month.

Florenzi was left out of the squad for Tuesday night’s Champions League game at San Siro against Atletico Madrid after sustaining a problem in Saturday’s win over Spezia, and it quickly emerged that he was suffering with a knee issue.

Then, it came out that surgery would be needed, and Milan have confirmed that Florenzi underwent an operation today that was carried out by Professor Pier Paolo Mariani in the presence of Club doctor Lucio Genesio at the Villa Stuart Clinic in Rome.

The arthroscopic operation was carried out to correct a partial tear to the medial meniscus in his left knee and went smoothly, with the estimated recovery time around 30 days. We wish Alessandro a full and speedy recovery and hope to have him back in the team soon.
