This afternoon, the head coach of Italy’s U21 side, Paolo Nicolato, announced his squad (via MilanNews.it) for the friendly game against Moldovia and the European qualifier against Luxembourg.
The international break is upon us. For the senior team, Donnarumma and Romagnoli were both called up by Roberto Mancini (via Italy’s official Twitter), whose team will face Armenia and Finland next week.
After a stellar pre-season, Matteo Gabbia earned himself a spot in the U21 squad. The centre-back impressed many when he got the chance during the summer, so much that Milan decided to keep him as Caldara hasn’t recovered from his injury yet (via Calciomercato.com).
Tomorrow evening, Giampaolo’s men will have to put international duty aside, taking on Brescia in front of 50K at San Siro. After the loss in the first round, a win would get their season back on track, and they simply can’t afford to keep wasting points.
