AC Milan have officially announced that Maikel Oettle will take on the position of Commercial Director, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer Casper Stylsvig.
On their official website Milan have confirmed Oettle’s appointment, as well as stating that he has been given the role in a bid to continue with the strategic objective of increasing revenue.
He first joined the Rossoneri in 2019 as Sponsorship Sales Director and has now been given his new role, which coincides with the creation of a renewed team structure under him. Milan have introduced a new business-to-business model, which aims to prepare the club for the next phase.
There is also the aim of consolidating a period of constant growth off the pitch with major commercial agreements and renewals, including with long-standing partners PUMA and Emirates which were signed recently.
Oettle has a background in sales and business development, with experiences at bwin – a digital gaming company – Bundesliga International which is the commercial division of Bundesliga and with Draftkings, a leading American fantasy-sport operator.
Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan’s Chief Revenue Officer: “Maikel Oettle, just like all colleagues in the commercial department, has made a significant contribution to the Club’s commercial revenue growth in the past four years.
“For this reason, we are very proud that his journey within the Club is continuing, and we are confident that his new role, alongside the professionalism and dedication of everyone in his team and in the commercial department, can have a key role in AC Milan’s future success off the pitch.”
Maikel Oettle, AC Milan’s new Commercial Director: “I would like to thank the Club and Leadership for the opportunity to continue my professional development here at AC Milan. I feel very privileged to continue working alongside a team of excellent professionals, with whom we are building the foundations for the next phase of the commercial growth of this legendary Club.
“Through this new model, which embraces all crucial leverages when it comes to partner acquisition and management, we aim to consolidate the fantastic results achieved so far to accelerate the creation of new revenue streams and to continue to unlock the potential of the AC Milan brand around the world.”
There are more new additions at the board of the team rather than improving the actual team that’s crazy new Milan ceo etc. Shows to Milan fans that doesn’t care about improving the team quality but only bring their own people to the board of AC Milan so they would spend even more less in transfers what the hell
Shows me you don’t have a clue what you are talking about, the club was bought by new owners less than 5 months ago, what miracles are you expecting?, they are bringing in people to increase revenues so they can improve the club. You can’t buy players if you don’t have money, he is here to help make that money…..how hard is this to understand???
Lol. Milanello builds the walls first and later thinks of the plumbing.
If we all read this article, the guy (Maikel) has been with Milan since 2019. This is just like a promotion.
