AC Milan have completed the signing of 16-year-old defender Cathal Heffernan from Cork City on an initial loan deal, it has been confirmed.
Over the past couple of days it has been rumoured that Heffernan will be joining the Rossoneri, and now his contract has officially been deposited as the league’s website shows. The Irish Post are reporting that Ireland’s U17 captain was previously thought to be heading for Bayer Leverkusen, but has signed for Milan initially on-loan ahead of a permanent move in the summer.
It is believed that Cork City will get a five-figure deal (e.g. €50,000) if Hefferan does stay with the club beyond the summer due to a clause in the loan deal. This was agreed as part of his deal when he signed on a professional contract last June, enabling the club to benefit financially from any transfer.
“The club will also get plus future add-ons for first-team and senior international appearances, plus any future sale of the defender,” the report claims.

Looks like another Philippe Senderos. I hope he comes good for us.
