AC Milan have used their buy-back option on Lorenzo Colombo and have thus bought him back from Lecce, it has been confirmed.
As has been confirmed on Lecce’s official website, the Giallorossi did use their option to buy Colombo on a permanent deal after his season-long loan spell there, but Milan have used their buy-back.
Colombo was sent for his first loan spell in Serie A after being at SPAL in Serie B the season prior, and it was a positive experience as he netted six times with some important goals, including the penalty that kept the Apulian side up.
Now the 22-year-old will play in the European Championships with Italy U21s and then he will join Stefano Pioli’s squad for summer training, where he will be evaluated before a decision is made on whether to keep him as part of the rotations or to send him on loan again.
