Official: Milan Primavera player undergoes successful surgery

AC Milan Primavera player Adam Bakoune underwent successful surgery on Tuesday afternoon and will now begin a recovery phase, the club has announced. 

As was shared by the AC Milan Youth Sector Twitter account, the full-back underwent arthroscopic surgery to correct an instability in his right shoulder, having complained of discomfort previously.

The surgery was performed by Professor Alessandro Castagna and it went successfully. Bakoune’s rehabilitation phase is set to begin in the next few days and he is not expected to feature again this season.

The 17-year-old Italian has played 18 times in the Primavera this season, registering four assists. He also made eight appearances in the UEFA Youth League of which Milan reached the semi-finals. He got eight assists during that journey that ended with a defeat against Hajduk Split.

Bakoune also holds citizenship for Morocco but is currently listed as an Italian player who has been of great importance to Ignazio Abate.
