Official: Milan announce final travelling squad for pre-season USA Tour

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have announced the full travelling squad for the pre-season tour of the United States of America, with a number of young players being given the chance to impress.

The squad was announced with a USA-themed graphic on the club’s official X account and it shows the 29 players that will be competing.

Milan have three very tough games to play in the USA, as they take on Premier League champions Manchester City, LaLiga and Champions League winners Real Madrid, and Spanish giants Barcelona.

This is Paulo Fonseca’s first ever pre-season tour with Milan and it comes at a very awkward time for the Portuguese coach. With the 2024 European Championship and the Copa America having just happened, many players who took part in those tournaments are still on holiday.

Also, in terms of giving young players a chance in the first-team environment, five of Milan’s most promising youngsters are at the U19 European Championship with Italy right now.

Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders are expected at Milanello on August 3, whilst Alvaro Morata should be there on August 10.

Christian Pulisic and Yunush Musah will be in the USA from July 26, Noah Okafor from July 30 and Rafael Leao from July 28.

Goalkeepers
Marco Sportiello, Noah Raveyre, Lapo Nava, Lorenzo Torriani.

  1. Interesting that the official announcement lists Pulisic as a midfielder but Chukwu as an attacker. Could they be planning Pulisic as the trequartista?

    1. Nah. That’s apparently how he’s registered. Even last year on the official website it said midfielder (thanks to dude who pointed it out a few months back in the comments). It’s why he was competing against other mids for awards. However, in reality on the pitch and functionally he’s a RW/ attacker

  2. Liberali has looked good for quite some time. I’d love for Fonseca to develop him more with the first team with Jimenez.

  3. I hope in the future , Mattia Liberali will be our next Gianni Rivera for 20 years . I’m a dreamer 😀. And Camarda like Van Basten…💪

  4. Probably gonna lose all three even with the opponents playing with their b or c teams. But let’s hope some of the youngsters “prove themselves” to Fonseca.

  5. I do hope Mancity trash Milan in Gerry’s beloved American soil. That way he can come to his senses and stop fooling around in this transfer window
