Official: Mourinho handed two-match ban for latest tirade and will miss Milan-Roma

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will take on a familiar foe in their second game back after the World Cup break when they face Roma at San Siro, but Stefano Pioli will not be able to shake hands with Jose Mourinho.

As MilanLive reports, Mourinho directed some anger towards the referee Rapuano during their 1-1 draw against Torino over the weekend which led to the coach getting yet another red card, and today the Sporting Judge communicated his decision to ban him for two games.

It is a bit more severe than the usual one-game ban, but the judge dished out a two-match suspension to Mourinho ‘for having, in the 44th minute of the second half, entered the field of play, contested a referee’s decision by assuming a threatening attitude towards the referee and repeatedly addressing him with a seriously offensive epithet’.

The Rossoneri will first meet Salernitana on 4 January after the winter break is done and then Roma on 8 January, but the Portuguese coach will not be in the dugout and forced to serve the second and final day of his ban.
