Official: Pierre Kalulu extends contract with AC Milan until 2027

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have officially announced that Pierre Kalulu has extended his contract with the club until June 2027.

Kalulu joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2020 from Lyon as a relative unknown given he was yet to make an appearance for them at that point, but since then he has made 75 appearances for Milan, cementing himself as one of the team’s key players in the Scudetto win.

As statement on the club’s official website has confirmed that the France U21 international has signed an extension that will shift his previous deadline of June 2025 back to June 2027, which is another important sign for the club’s project.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported earlier today that Kalulu’s extension was imminent and he also stated that his new salary will be €2m net per year plus bonuses, and that it is an outcome that desired by both sides, with the player increasingly central to the Rossoneri’s project and therefore very happy to stay.

      1. That they do to a certain extent but as the squad evolves and gets more players of quality it gives the club some leverage as well because if the players refuses to renew then the club can always threat them that they will get benched for their remainder of their contracts.

        1. “the club can always threat them that they will get benched for their remainder of their contracts.”

Sure, in theory. Not how Milan operate though.

          1. In my opinion we should though when we at some point can afford to do so with a better squad.
Milan invest massive amounts on those players not the other way around and if players wont renew then they clearly wont commit to the project and should therefore not be counted on anylonger. Clearly we are not there yet as the depth of the squad really doesnt allow us to act like that as things stands but i hope in the future we will take a clear stance against players trying to make fools out of us,

    1. The player signed the contract so apparently hes fairly happy with the offer made to him and besides of that he has propably also gotten a sign on fee on top of his wages + as already mentioned in the article that there are bonuses on top of the base salary so it will end up higher than 2 mil a year.
But sure milan are being disrespectfull (sarcasmn) to the player and should just overpay players for the mere fact that some fans wants us to blow the budget.

        1. Some articles said 800k but some said 400k. I don’t know which one is the truth but let’s just agree it’s a pretty significant increase for an unknown young player like Kalulu.

  1. Very happy for him, for our side too.

Kalulu is one of the great symbols, perhaps even the most paradigmatic, due to the very low initial value of its transfer fee, of a project that has already proved to be largely successful, even with all its ups and downs.

    Forza, Pierre, auguri per te!!!
