Official: Roma vs. AC Milan starting XIs – four changes from Lecce win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has gone back to what seems to be his first choice starting line-up for today’s game against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Compared to the eleven against Lecce at San Siro, Pioli has made four changes. On the right there is the return of Davide Calabria, who served his suspension on Sunday, and Pierre Kalulu thus drops to the bench.

Simon Kjaer has come back into the defence too replacing Malick Thiaw, with Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez then completing the back four in front of Mike Maignan.

In the middle of the field, it is the trio of Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic who are all playing together in the triangle that had success against Napoli in the three meetings this month.

In attack, Olivier Giroud will resume his starting position while there should be Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao on the wings thus meaning that Junior Messias and Ante Rebic move back to the bench.

Official Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Brahim Diaz, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Bench: Tatarusanu, Mirante, Kalulu, Thiaw, Gabbia, Ballo-Touré, Adli, Vranckx, Bakayoko, Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Rebic, Origi, Messias.

Official Roma XI (3-5-2): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Ibanez, Kumbulla; Celik, Cristante, Matic, Pellegrini; Spinazzola, Belotti, Abraham.

Bench: Boer, Svilar, Solbakken, Camara, Dybala, Bove, Zalewski, Volpato, Tahirovic, El Shaarawy.
