Official: Sporting Judge decides on length of Jovic’s ban after red card

By Ben Dixon -

After being entrusted with a starting spot by Stefano Pioli, AC Milan striker Luka Jovic repaid him in the worst way possible by being dismissed five minutes into the second half. Today, it has been revealed how long the Rossoneri will be without his services.

Pioli’s decision to rest several key players – in hindsight – was a poor choice. However, with the amount of games the squad will play in the next few weeks, there can be some understanding behind the decision.

The full-time score makes the decision poor, though, as Milan found themselves at the end of a 4-2 defeat to their Lombardy neighbours. None of the three attackers who were allowed to impress did so – Jovic was at the tail end of this, with his dismissal after striking Monza defender Armando Izzo, which instantly created worries about how long a suspension would be.

MilanNews writes that the Giudice Sportivo have given the Serbian striker a two-game suspension, which they deem a ‘light decision’. It means that Jovic will be absent for the games against Atalanta and Lazio, which creates another selection headache for Pioli, with his forward options limited.

  1. I dont see a problem. He can play him vs rennes tho that might look bad to give him another start after the slap that didnt happen. Option b play okafor vs rennes and Oli vs atalanta and Lazio.

  2. Effectively this is an admission that they got it wrong. It had to be an automatic 3 game ban if he actually slapped him I’m the face. Which is what the on field referee determined from one look in slow motion, of one camera angle.
Thanks to VAR insisting he come to the side line.
There was minimal contact and Izzo was pushing him harder.
Only difference was Izzo was being careful where hit hit Jovic as he was instigating and he was ready to flop if Jovic got sacked in.

LOL. No reason to look at any slowmoes as it was a 100% b*tch-slap and a red card offense.

“If he actually hit the face?”
      IF? IF?! 😀 😀 😀
