Mauro Tassotti has had his contract terminated by AC Milan after 37 years at the club in various roles.
He leaves his role as club scout, having previously been assistant manager, caretaker manager and a youth coach.
His contract was due to expire in 2017, but it was confirmed today that it would be ended a year early for reasons not yet disclosed.
Tassotti played in over 400 games for the rossoneri, establishing himself as an icon of the club spending 17 years there as a player.
One of Italy’s greatest defenders, he is mostly remembered for his role alongside Maldini, Baresi, Galli, and Costacurta in the legendary Milan backline of the late 1980s and early 1990s, under Sacchi and Capello.
Primavera youth academy chief Andrea Maldera has also left Milan.
