Okafor reveals training-ground routine with Pulisic: “With our eyes closed”

By Isak Möller -

Noah Okafor was one of the key players for AC Milan this afternoon as they clinched an important 1-0 win against Empoli. The winger provided the assist for Christian Pulisic and revealed that it’s a move they have worked on.

Thanks to Rafael Leao’s suspension, Okafor got the chance from the first minute today and he did well overall, above all providing the crucial assist. In our player ratings, he got a 6.5/10 after just missing out on a 7, but with more consistent playing time he can be even more successful.

Speaking to Sky and MilanTV after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Okafor shared his thoughts on the performance. He also explained the the gaol was the result of a training-ground routine that he and Pulisic have been working a lot on.

On the assist for Pulisic…

“I’m very happy about the assist and the victory. It’s a movement that Pulisic and I often work on. We can find each other with our eyes closed.”

On his form…

“Against Lazio, we won with a goal of mine, today I assisted. But let’s look forward and focus on the next matches, because we have to continue to improve.”

On the return match against Slavia…

“We are ready. Two goals is a good advantage, I can’t wait to get on the pitch on Thursday.”

On the league standings…

“We must not look at others, but only ourselves. We played a good match, creating good opportunities.”

Milan will take on Slavia Praha next and after the 4-2 win in the first leg, they are big favourites to go through to the quarter-finals. However, the tie against Stade Rennes taught the Rossoneri that nothing can be taken for granted.
