Okafor to undergo injury check-up tomorrow as Pioli provides update

By Oliver Fisher -

While a lot of the media attention is on when Rafael Leao will return to action, AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is also hoping to have Noah Okafor back in the fold soon.

Okafor was injured with the Swiss national team during the last international break as he suffered a hamstring muscle issue. At the time, the Newcastle United and Monza games – which come after the Atalanta game at the weekend – were circled for a potential return.

Pioli spoke at his press conference on the eve of Atalanta-Milan and he gave an update on Okafor’s condition: “Okafor is not going to recover for Atalanta; tomorrow he will do an evaluation and if it is positive his return will be very close.”

It seems that we will know more about the forward tomorrow as Okafor’s current goal is to return for the match against Monza on December 17th, as per MilanNews.

Meanwhile, there are hopes that Leao will at least be able to play a part of the game off the bench tomorrow.
