There is a growing level of optimism around the potential of Rafael Leao signing a contract extension with AC Milan and January is set to be a key month, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin on Twitter, the Portuguese forward is now looking more likely to sign a new contract than many thought.
The negotiations have dragged on for many months and there were fears that the player was beginning to see his future away from the Rossoneri, meaning the club would need to sell him in the summer of 2023 in order to receive a transfer fee.
It seems that a new contract offer has been made to the player and his entourage that would see him earn €6.5 million per season.
There will be decisive talks in January where the interest of other clubs could force a decision to be made.
