Mediaset: Optimism grows as distance between Milan and Bennacer is €600-700k

By Oliver Fisher -

There is plenty of optimism surrounding the renewal of Ismael Bennacer’s contract following yesterday’s meeting with his agent, a report claims.

According to reports from SportMediaset (via MilanNews), there is great optimism regarding the situation after yesterday’s meeting at Casa Milan between the Rossoneri management and Bennacer’s new agent Enzo Raiola, who took over power of attorney from Moussa Sissoko recently.

The renewal of the Algerian midfielder is a priority for Milan given his importance to the project and to Stefano Pioli’s tactical plans, and the parties are getting increasingly closer. There is currently a distance of around €600-700k net per season which could very well be bridged with bonuses.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal recently given his impressive performances this season and his development into one of the best Serie A midfielders following his move from Empoli back in the summer of 2019.

  1. This is excellent news. Bennacer is so important to our team and still I believe the most underrated player on our team. He does so much dirty work, shuts down the best players on opponents, dribbles well in traffic shielding the ball well and making good outlet passes to get offensive runs going forward.

  2. I wish they’d just hurry up and get these things done rather than farting around for months and quibbling over the odd few £000s here and there. The longer he fails to commit, the more his head can be turned by other clubs.

  3. My guess: Bennacer will stick with us, 95% sure. As far as Rafa is concerned… I don’t know, currently I think it’s imponderable, 50/50.
