AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli wanted more options from his attacking department and Divock Origi helps in more ways than one.
Calciomercato.com report that Origi took only a few minutes to impress everyone in his debut with Milan in the 4-2 victory against Udinese on Saturday. Having entered in the place of Leao, he moved well and looked sharp from the off.
Initially he will battle for a spot as the starting striker with Olivier Giroud while waiting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return, but he could also become Leao’s substitute when the Portuguese is not there and if Ante Rebic suffers a dip in form.
Therefore, he has a double role that gives Pioli options and the former Liverpool is determined to do well in a new environment. There is a derby match against Inter on the horizon too on 3 September, and given his 6 goals against Everton he will be very much looking forward to a clash against a city rival.
This is why we should also get Belotti. Origi is not going to be our out and out striker, he is mobile and smart but not that true goal scorer. Maybe he proves me wrong but either way he will be good for us. I just think getting Belotti for free and having another solid striking option makes way too much sense.
I like your ambitions, now there is already a selection issue and a healthy competition and adding Belotti won’t help because if everyone is in form then comes serious challenges and dispute if not selected, top strikers position as it stands now is Rebic, Giroud and Origi…awaiting Zalatan, Leao intentionally gym up before joining the team for the pre-season inoder to avoid been substituted as often as we saw last season, Rebic won’t certainly waiting for 80 minutes to play so he is going to fight seriously, Attacking midfield is another battle as it stands now Diaz, CDK and Adil, the players we actually need now is defensive midfield and an incredible defender to heat up the competition and we are good
Indeed. But attack might look overcrowded with excellent players, if you compare it to our midfield or defence. M&M might prefer to spend there instead.
