GdS: Origi’s frustrating start to life at Milan continues – he is likely to miss the Udinese game

By Oliver Fisher -

It has not been an ideal start to life at AC Milan for Divock Origi as he is expected to miss the first league game of the season, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri will take to the field tonight to face Vicenza and head Stefano Pioli will have everyone available apart from Divock Origi, who is continuing his recovery from injury.

In addition to missing the match tonight, it is likely that the Belgian centre-forward will not even be available next Saturday in Milan’s season opening game at San Siro against Udinese.

It is becoming clear that the muscle injury Origi sustained towards the back end of his time with Liverpool was quite a serious one and he needs plenty of time to get back to 100%, both to regain condition but also to avoid the risk of re-aggravating it.

  1. Time to get belotti, the player is interested, comes at a free transfer and he might even accept a short term fairly low paid contract to prove himself in the club he has supported since childhood.

      1. 31 August 2020, not sure if its a joke or a typo but belotti has proven to be pretty effective for a team like torino so i see no great hurdles in him becoming a success with us as well.

          1. No idea but im sure he is still training to stay fit if milan were to come calling as he clearly wants that move otherwise he would most likely already have moved to a different club.

  2. Pioli make a wise choice by not forcing him. Dealing with hamstring injury require patience, if he return too early, he might re-aggravate it and he could become injury prone like Sanches or Pogba.

        1. @Kossy you’re as stupid as mehdi. There was no point in insulting 2 billion people just because one dumb guy made a bad comment. The way I see it you’re an even bigger idiot than him.

Also, If you can’t handle your puberty go get an orchiectomy you racist piece of sh*t. People like you give Milan a bad name.

  3. I dont have high hope from this guy. He was injury prone bench wormer at Liverpool whole time. He will probably be good to jump in when Giroud and Ibra get tired. Belotti was much better option for a striker to get. Not a huge mistake by menagment to get him instead of Belotti but still poor judgement for me.

  4. What a pity we got a cripple as a striker. I was the least excited when I learned we were going after him. Among all the players we’ve signed in recent years, I don’t have big hopes for this one.

  5. To all those who don’t have hope on this guy you did the same to so many other transfers and you ended at wrong side. I assured you the same thing here. Disappointment

    1. I have hopes in origi as im sure he will do well with us when fit, never said anything else but we cant keep waiting as ibra is out for the next half a year, giroud isnt getting younger and if he were to get injured we would have to field either de ketelaere or rebic up there unless Lazetić is actually deemed ready to become a starter.

      1. You basically just reveal that Milan squad can cope with injury of 4 forwards at once… There will still be 2 remaining… 1 start and 1 sub…

        1. Not really because if de keteleaere is brought into playing at least right wing then it kinda breaks the purpose and i doubt Lazetić will be a starter for the time being infact he might get loaned out before the window closes.
I can see you mentions mancini further down this thread and he will most likely be brought into play with the primavera for a year or two so i doubt he would be in contention either if brought in,
Rebic should play at the wing and not as a cf.

          1. Well, CDK actually spent last season as forward and we have 2 more RW. In any case, that will be good opportunity for Lazetic.

Who knows if the management intentionally assemble 3 injury prone forward to make some room for Lazetic.

If Lazetic ended up becoming wonderkid this season, the starting player of the dynasty will be complete.

          2. Well thats a BIG if, when that is said i hope you are correct and Lazetic excells but im not sure we should rely on it happening right away. Belotti does actually offer some guarantees upfront and might even accept a 1 year contract for it to happen. No glaring issues in such a deal as i see it quite the contrary.

          3. Milan currently holding 1 slot for Italian-trained player, but I doubt they want to use it for 5th striker who will reduce Lazetic’s minutes further, seems more likely for 5th CB.

          4. @Yelnats24 – did you just say “ Who knows if the management intentionally assemble 3 injury prone forward to make some room for Lazetic.”?????? Are you crazy? Ya M&M would really sign 3 players on purpose with the hope they continue to get injured so Lazetic can play???? Wow you are a weird person sorry to say

  6. Belotti this, Belotti that, how great can Belotti be if no one’s actually lining up to snatch him as he’s free. When Dybala was available, the whole media linked him to every club imaginable, Belotti has been free as long as Dybala was and he’s still free one week to start of a new season, he’s had a fairly average career, u guys should take a break, amongst the 7 sisters of Serie A, no one’s talking about him except Roma

    1. And if the signing of Wijnaldum is anything to go by, Roma would apparently sign anybody if the offer was placed on their laps

    2. Whether you like belotti or not then his goal contributions doesnt lie regardless of how you might want to twist and turn it. Add to that dybala would have come with a completely different cost, that i can assure you. The fact he hasnt signed for any club isnt proof of anything as reports suggests he is holding out for a call from milan. Might not happen though.

    3. Leo I am ashamed of you as a football, bellotti who have double figures his all his past 5 seasons with Torino, you must be brain dead to say that……….what’s this about suitors, I don’t blame you, you are a TV fan, you read nothing, bellotti have tons of offers both from serieA and premiership, dude is taking his time.

What kind of people come here

      1. Bro I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion which is why you shouldn’t try to superimpose your ideas on theirs. We all love the club, maybe just not the same way. As for the signing of Origi over AB, you can look at it this way: Maldini intends for Milan to go further in the UCL hence the signing of players with more experience in the competition. We all saw what happened when a group of talented but inexperienced lads played the competition for the first time. I have a Playstation and it’s easy to just assume which player is better than which based on the ratings of the players but we’re talking about a guy who’s lived the game and seen it all. If Maldini says Balotelli is what we need right now then I trust his judgment. ✌🏾

  7. The managenent is focusing on nurturing youth to make future dynasty (striker is the missing piece).

Origi is not youth player, so you should have known that Milan sign him not as the star forward but to help young player grows. Lazetic and Mancini (if he arrive) are still 18 years old. Origi’s presence will be needed if Ibra and Giroud leave before they are fully ready.

Lets not forget that Origi is super sub. Super sub usually have good reading of the game while sitting on the beach. Even when he does not play, it will be good to have him sitting with the youngster as he can offer insight. Pioli is also good at using subtitution, so Origi will be a great weapon.

    1. Thank you, amazing analogy, I hate it when some Milan fans think they know better than the management who brought them their first major piece of silverware in over a decade, Belotti is great and all, but I’ll pick Origi who knows how to read the game, faster, has more European experience and can actually play when a high tempo is needed

      1. i never said im smarter than the management so not sure if that was a jibe towards me as i started mentioning belotti further up but i have supported the management from day 1 and up untill now. I have supported our coach from day 1 as well ive supported our players as well.

  8. 1. @kossy, you are basically capping and talking right outta your ass, premier league clubs, West ham et al, Liverpool needed a striker and went for Darwin, man City went for Halaand, Chelsea is still searching for a striker, these transfers happened with your hero belotti free and available, so why are the ambitious clubs not looking at belotti if he is that great. Look, I have nothing against belotti but its safe to say his best days are behind him, practically ambitious club knows this

  9. Bro I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion which is why you shouldn’t try to superimpose your ideas on theirs. We all love the club, maybe just not the same way.
