Pedulla believes Milan will sack Fonseca if Liverpool and Inter games go badly

Alfredo Pedulla believes that AC Milan would sack Paulo Fonseca if he were to fail to obtain positive results in the games against Liverpool and Inter.

Milan drew 2-2 with Lazio away from home in the game before the break which is not a terrible result in isolation, but it followed a 2-1 defeat in Parma and a 2-2 draw against Torino, meaning two points from three games to begin the new era.

With six goals conceded and a five-point gap having already opened up with Inter and Juventus, Fonseca knows that he must turn things around quickly. Sky even reported that the three upcoming games are already decisive in keeping the faith of the management.

Pedulla spoke about Fonseca’s future during a piece for Sportitalia (via MilanNews) and he dialled up the pressure by suggesting that the Champions League opener and the derby will an early crossroads.

“If the Liverpool and Inter games go badly, they’ll change [coach] in my opinion. I’d be surprised if this club, if Fonseca were to get two more games wrong after having made mistakes in the first three, didn’t think about how to avoid throwing away the whole season,” he said.

“So let’s wait, then maybe [Milan will] beat Liverpool and win the derby… But it already seems like a premature fork in the road compared to what was the celebration of a market and of operations tailor-made for Fonseca.”

  1. Pedulla clearly doesn’t understand that Milan won’t want to be paying three coaches in one season… but hey he wants to chime in too.

    Bless his heart.

  2. Management should sack themselves for being moronic…….Get Fonseca because you want him and then back him, don’t just get him because he is cheap and you think he will accept ‘value’

  3. He clearly knows nothing about Milan!!! Milan is like a frog in boiling water, everyone sees that the club in trouble except for us.

  4. Idk why they would sack him.. I would get it to bring a better, much better, caoch in. But that is not in the books for Milan so there will be no sacking.
Honestly, we struggle vs Torino, Parma, Lazio and they expect better results vs L’pool and Inter? How realistic is that, a?

Pedulla should stick to watching big brother or something easier to follow. A footbal club is way beyond him

  5. Well if Liverpool and Inter are the barometer he will be in trouble.
As of now I would guess Inter would beat us by 3 or 4 goals and Liverpool 5 or 6
