Pellegatti: Experienced Atalanta centre-back ‘could complete’ Milan’s defence

Carlo Pellegatti has put forward a new potential name to strengthen AC Milan’s defence: the experienced Berat Djimsiti.

Igli Tare confirmed a couple of things during his press conference with journalists earlier in the week: that Milan will sign a central defender if one leaves, and that they are looking for more experienced profiles after Luka Modric’s arrival.

Since then, multiple sources have reported that an agreement has been reached with Como over a €25m deal for Malick Thiaw, and now attention has turned to his possible replacement.

Djimsiti to be monitores

Giovanni Leoni of Parma is the name that has been mentioned most, but given Tare’s indications about wanting more leadership in the team, Pellegatti has put forward another name on his YouTube channel.

“Milan are building a young defence for the future. They are interested in Leoni, who already has some experience and is liked for his personality. Nicolò Schira suggests that the key could be Liberali and don’t ask me why Milan have put him aside,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“Watch out for Djimsiti, his name has never been linked to Milan, but be careful. He is Albanian like Tare and could be observed with a certain amount of care. Djimsiti could complete the Rossoneri defence in terms of experience.

“At the moment I can’t identify who could be the starter on the wings. [Honest] Ahanor is liked, his agent Riso has already gone to talk. He could be an alternative. The news published today by Gianluca Di Marzio is that of Yanis Messaoudi, who I don’t think will be included in the first team.”
