Pellegatti believes Fabregas is a worthy candidate for Milan: “A fascinating solution”

Carlo Pellegatti believes Cesc Fabregas is a concrete idea to become AC Milan’s new head coach, and that Carlo Ancelotti might have spoken to him about the idea.

Milan are currently embroiled in a strange situation whereby the current manager Sergio Conceicao is trying his best to rally the squad for a strong finish to the season, with a European spot and the Coppa Italia remaining as objectives.

However, the noise about the future of the club is deafening. Firstly, a new sporting director will be appointed to guide decisions on the playing side, and then it is expected that Conceicao will be replaced when the season ends.

Who the director and the next coach will be remains the subject of great speculation. Pellegatti published his weekly column for MilanNews and he spoke about the topic, more specifically one of the linked names in Fabregas.”

“‘Carlo, what would you advise me if Milan called me?’ Perhaps this is how the meeting in Madrid, last March 20, between Cesc Fabregas and Carlo Ancelotti ended,” he began.

“The main topic, as revealed by a Spanish website, was the future of Nico Paz, who the Como coach would like to remain on the shores of the lake. I have no doubts about what the Real Madrid coach might have said. ‘Run fast… it’s Milan!’.

“It is a given that the Milan management likes the coach – Spanish by passport, but an Italian by activity – for his proactive, spectacular, always fluid and harmonious style. Como are one of the most entertaining teams in Serie A, despite the calibre of its squad not reaching the levels of many of its opponents.

“A coach very close to the philosophy that has always accompanied the Rossoneri’s history. Some might argue that it would be another gamble, that instead we need a coach who can provide certainties and who can resist the pressure of a demanding club like Milan.

“Well, then, among the many names linked to the Club of Via Aldo Rossi except Conte, Allegri, Sarri, who won with top leading European clubs, with the natural very strong pressure of the fans, the same could be said of the others. So either certainties or a figure like Fabregas could certainly represent a fascinating solution.”

  1. Pellegatti would be the worst sd. His takes are so bad. Even if Milan hired fabregas he’d be the first one to criticize them for not hiring an Italian

  2. our team gets booed every week by our own ‘supporters’ – its currently not only about how good a coach is, but also how to handle this enormous pressure+negativity. i’m 100% sure this would make Fabregas fail before he even gets a real chance to prove his qualities. Sergio is a lot more the typ of person who could potentially bring back success, because he’s a mentality monster and not breaking under this pressure. actually i dont see anyone currently who would be an upgrade to him.

  3. Why? Marco Giampaolos Sampdoria was much better than Fabregas Como. We all know how that went. His references are half a season in management. It will be like Pirlo at Juventus.

  4. I write same like in other article…
I really hope for experienced coach like Sarri or Alegri , Conte is also fine but he will be in Napoli for next season.. it’s time to stop to do experiments with no name and no experienced coaches like Fabregas, Italiano or others… If it is not experience name , then we need to hope for good finishing with Conceicao and continue with him.
I think someone like Pellegatti has good opinions and know what club like Milan need , but he is definitely lost in his mind circles and stop to talk all this nonsense

  5. Anyone but allegri!
Fabregas on the paper is an exciting idea but look at motta.
Rather have de zerbi than anyone else.
