After the draw against Como and the defeat to Parma, many suggested that the Scudetto was a done deal for Inter, even before the derby was played. However, now that the ten-point gap has been reduced to seven points, do Milan suddenly have a chance?

Mathematically speaking, with ten games left of the season, they obviously do. Whether it’s realistic or not, however, is a very different question as the Rossoneri will effectively need a perfect run from here on out, while also relying on other results to go their way.
A comeback for the history books
The well-known journalist Carlo Pellegatti brought up the subject in his most recent editorial for MilanNews, stating that as long as Milan are alive, they should be considered contenders. The derby, after all, could also represent a mental turning point.
“I calmly respond that a seven-point gap is more hopeful than being 10 points behind, or worse, 13 points behind, a possible outcome in the event of a defeat. Clearly, many factors must come together for a historic and revolutionary finale, unforgettable and spectacular, to allow Milan to earn their second star.
“It would be the greatest Scudetto ever, given the standings and the predictions all favouring Inter and Napoli. Furthermore, there is also the low credibility Allegri’s team has always enjoyed, only considered as Scudetto contenders because they didn’t have European competitions this season,” he wrote.
Ha more sensationalism, sure Inter could collapse but I’d be surprised if they drop 9 points or more over the last ten. I also don’t see Milan making it past Atalanta and Napoli without dropping points
