Pellegatti praises Pioli for bold choices during comeback win vs. Frosinone

By Oliver Fisher -

Carlo Pellegatti gave credit to Stefano Pioli for his role in AC Milan’s comeback win against Frosinone, but he also confessed to being worried about the defensive record.

Milan were made to work extremely hard to get all three points away in Lazio on Saturday evening, needing a late winner from Luka Jovic to make it 3-2 having already surrendered a lead.

Pellegatti spoke on Radio Rossonera after Milan’s victory at Frosinone at the Stadio Benito Stirpe and he revealed his belief that the win was thanks to Pioli and his desire to obtain maximum points rather than playing it more safe.

“Pioli’s victory for a reason: certainly not for the goals conceded, because the coach must build a team that does not concede goals,” he said.

“Pioli’s decision seemed right to me as at a certain point at 1-1 he said what interests us about this draw… in fact nothing was of interest. He brought in a plethora of attackers and this time the changes proved him to be right.”

Pellegatti then recalled the words of coach Pioli to explain Milan’s moment, which is very vulnerable in defence but also capable of scoring many goals in each match.

“Milan are like this at the moment. The coach said yesterday that you have to score 3 goals to win games and I’m going home happy with the 3 points,” he said.

    1. Pretty sure the 2nd and 3rd goal wasn’t because of Leao. So it’s always weird to see people keeps claiming Pioli only have “give the ball to Leao” plan when Leao isn’t the only scorer or assist.

      1. who cares how the goals came to be? The plan is ‘give the ball to leao’ if you havent figured that much out by now idk what to say
