An opportunity has presented itself to Pietro Pellegri as the young striker is likely to be called upon in the games to come, a report has claimed.
Milan’s treatment room never seems to be empty at the moment and there have been two recent blows to the attacking options that Stefano Pioli can call upon. La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how Olivier Giroud’s recent injury, combined with Ante Rebic’s muscle problem, paves the way for Pellegri in some ways.
Pioli will be able to call upon the 21-year-old, who is on loan from Monaco and will be the back-up centre-forward probably for the rest of the calendar year given that Rebic and Giroud are each expected to miss a few games.
The Milan boss insisted the day before the game that he has no problem leaning upon the young Italian in what is a very difficult period where games come thick and fast.
“Pietro will be ready, physically he is fine and has always trained. He has had some minor ailments but overcame it. He is an intelligent boy, when he will be the the moment will be ready,” he said.
