A corner came over from the right side and as Theo Hernandez attacked the ball he went down with a squeal under a challenge from Gianluca Mancini.
Although the Video Assistant Referee was not even consulted, the replays – in particular the slow motion one – showed that Theo was indeed stamped on by Mancini and a seemingly clear penalty was missed.
