By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli believes that the game against Sampdoria represents an ‘opportunity’ for his side to show their ‘mentality’.

Pioli spoke to Sky Italia before the game about a number of different topics, including the chance to go top of the table and the selection choices that he has made, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

On the opportunity against Sampdoria…

“All matches must represent an opportunity. Only if we play with our characteristics and with our mentality to demonstrate our qualities, can we be ambitious.”

On the choices he made for the starting XI…

“Milan plays with their form of play, the characteristics of the players will help us to find balance. We have two position midfielders like Tonali and Bennacer and we have always had 4 attacking players. We must show that we make the right choices.”

On the difficulties of the games against clubs lower in the tavke…

“The season is difficult and all matches must be played in the best possible way. If the ranking is so balanced it means that all the teams have not had consistency but what matters will be trying to play better than our opponents”
