MN: Pioli prepares for a tough April as the club work on five summer signings

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is getting ready to welcome the full squad back ahead of what will be a sprint finish to the season.

The season will resume one week today for the Rossoneri with a match against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Bologna, and it will begin what could very well be a month of fire in April for Milan as they look to keep top spot and reach the Coppa Italia final.

Games against Torino away and Genoa at home follow the Bologna match before the return leg against Inter in the cup, with a match in Rome against Lazio after that. Then it must be determined whether the match against Fiorentina will be played on the last day of April or the first day of May.

MilanNews reports that – after choosing not to be active on the market in January aside from signing Marko Lazetic – the management are looking forward to the coming summer with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara looking for targets.

Regardless of how this season ends, the club’s goal is to strengthen the squad for future years, and Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano told the source that Milan ‘will sign 5 players for me, 3 or 4 who they will pay for, and 1 or 2 free transfers’.
