CM: Pioli has the backing of the management for now but the situation could change

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have gone from being Napoli’s main challengers to a team desperate just to finish in the top four as everything changed within a month. write that after seven games without a win, four consecutive defeats – two of those being against Inter – and three trophy opportunities now gone, it is right that Stefano Pioli ended up in the dock first as the head coach.

The fans were singing ‘Pioli is on fire’ until a week ago but now the #PioliOut hash tag is back in force on Twitter and other social media after a collapse which has seen the head coach struggle to tackle the situation and find a solution to the problems.

The decision to exclude Rafael Leao from the line-up for Sunday’s derby was certainly not a well-received solution, given it goes completely against philosophy that the Rossoneri have implemented since Pioli arrived and one that helped win the Scudetto.

However, a sacking is not a scenario envisaged in the ideas of the management and RedBird Capital because their tendency is not to change mid-season during an ongoing crisis but to take stock at the end of the season.

However, the last word belongs to the management who have the pulse of the situation by being close to the team on a daily basis, At the moment there are no signs of Pioli’s imminent departure though an immediate turnaround is needed, especially in view of the games against Spurs in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The bleeding must be stopped so as not to miss out on qualifying for the next edition of the top European competition. Should a reaction not arrive and should other extremely negative results arise, it is not excluded that the scenario could change because the project is not immune to damage, and the UCL brings huge and necessary revenues.

  1. I don’t know why this baldhead kept on playing TATARUŠANU instead of giving a chance to VAZQUEZ!
This Pioli is going to ruin Milan completely.
I don’t see Milan making top 4 comes next season.
