CM: Pioli to give chance to three players – his selection choices for the Juventus game

By Oliver Fisher -

Some surprise news has emerged on the day of AC Milan’s crucial home game against Juventus at San Siro as Stefano Pioli is set to make multiple changes.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, Matteo Gabbia now appears likely to start over Sergino Dest who struggled against Chelsea, and that means Pierre Kalulu will shift across and take up the role of right-back.

While Pioli strongly defended Charles de Ketelaere in his pre-match press conference, the report claims that the Belgian will start from the bench to take a bit of the heat off and also allow him to catch his breath. Brahim Diaz should start for the first time since August 30, in the away match against Sassuolo.

The big news though is that Brahim might be asked to take up a wider area because of the ‘almost necessary shift towards a 4-3-3’ after the injuries to Messias and Saelemaekers. Tommaso Pobega is expected to line up alongside Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer in the midfield to add some physicality and security.

    1. Pool I is fixated with certain players regardless how they performed on the pitch, Pioli never plays his strongest XI, the game against Atlanta and Chelsea would have ended differently if Rebic play on the RW, Junior and Salad-man has underperformed in that position times without number. yet Pioli continues to play these same players in the same position, Rebic or Diaz would ‘ve done better in that role. The new players are not even given a chance to prove their worth even when the match is wrapped up. and Pollo has gut balls to complain about tight fixtures and injuries. he is partly to blame!!!

      1. Cuz he’s not a tactician. He hardly can be coach assistant for a team like Milan. Look how badly Milan can’t take a proper set piece or even a corner

If you missing wings what is need is to change the formation rather than play same formation without capable players. That what a smart coach has to do
Now he’s going to have 4-4-3 vs 4-4-2 for. I huaratee to you Milan, if luck not there, will be beaten

To beat 4-4-2 formation, you must play 3-5-2. So let’s see

  1. Pioli said that adli is more of an attacking midfielder. Well guess what, de ketelaere and Diaz haven’t proved anything so why not bring adli in there who in pre season showed what he can do?

  2. From little we have seen of Adli, he has amazing vision as CAM and probably the best of the 3 … i understand Pioli might want him to be faster and more physical, but I dont see any of our CAMs now doing such a great job on that aspect either. I’d give Adli his chances

  3. Seriously, guys. Adli is too light-weight for the Juve game. I think he wants him to first put on some weight. His disadvantage is being lanky.
