GdS: Pioli expected to make changes in midfield for game against Hellas Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

In four days AC Milan will be back on the field looking to take another big step towards the Scudetto as they face Hellas Verona at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi.

Milan make the trip to ‘Fatal Verona’ – where previous Scudetto bids in 1973 and 1990 suffered very damaging blows – knowing that 7 points from the last 9 games will be needed to go on and win the Scudetto.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), head coach Stefano Pioli should make some changes to the midfield department and that includes giving a starting spot back to Ismael Bennacer, who will return to team up in the middle of the field with Sandro Tonali.

That means Franck Kessie should instead be employed a few metres ahead as an attacking midfielder and therefore Brahim Diaz will drop back to the bench after another very mixed display against Fiorentina on Sunday.

  1. Good decision. We should play 433 with Tonali as a regista and Bennacer and Kessie alongside him as mezzalas.
