Stefano Pioli continues to not call upon Aster Vranckx and on Saturday against Monza he even gave a seasonal debut to Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Pietro Mazzara writes in his column for MilanNews how the decision to bring Bakayoko off the bench in the closing minutes of the win over Monza after Rade Krunic picked up a knock certainly raised a few eyebrows.
That was the first competitive minutes of the season for the Frenchman, who Milan have tried to offload in each of the last two transfer windows. The continuous aerial assault from Monza led Pioli to make such an unexpected choice and Bakayoko certainly showed determination.
However, Mazzara adds that we must ‘wonder if we will ever see Vranckx from the start’ as the Belgian is a profile that the fans want to see more of – just as they did with Malick Thiaw who is now shining – but Pioli has not given him a single start yet.
The hope is that Ismael Bennacer will soon be available to allow Sandro Tonali to catch his breath a bit, however the ‘aura of mystery’ that hovers over Vranckx continues.
Meanwhile Adli is left to rust on the bench.
Bakayoko is tall, he can play more games and not activate purchase clause. Vranckx possible won’t be buy out.
Milan need to do very good reconstruction of the squad from next year, if it is going to be competitive in serie a and Europe again.
This year ac milan project fail very well, because of bad signings, and many Pioli bads choices. But there are only few managers who would handle these players better than Pioli.
Milan still is in risk to qualify for UCL next year. That’s why Pioli must use best squad 👌 Bakayoko over Vranckx in some of the situations.

Vrancks is very good not good. with wolfsburg he played also in UCL He will be worth 30 millions in a couple of years.
With Milan’s limited budget. Permanently getting Vranckx would be a total waste of money. He’s not worth his price tag, we already have Pobega and I think that if Baka plays well we could get him for free and with a reasonable salary.
