AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is expected to return to playing with a four-man defence for tonight’s game against Napoli, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com write that Milan have a need to rediscover confidence and belief in their own abilities again, especially having been presented the chance to overtake Inter who were defeated yesterday by Fiorentina.
There is a need to rediscover the certainties and the resilience that made the Scudetto side so formidable, and there should be a return to the 4-2-3-1 system which brought so much success. Mike Maignan should be in goal with Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez the defence.
Ismael Bennacer and Sandro Tonali will be the pivots of the midfield, ready to try and find Rafael Leao at the right moments, who will be in his favoured role. Brahim Diaz, Rade Krunic and Alexis Saelemaekers are competing for the last two remaining places in the line-up.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Brahim Diaz, Krunic, Leao; Giroud. All. Pioli.
