GdS: Pioli maintaining exact same routine and details ahead of Atalanta game – the reasons

By Oliver Fisher -

The crucial match against Atalanta at San Siro is now only three days away and the importance of a fixed routine is being preached at Milanello.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report this morning how inevitably the tension is growing especially in a young squad like that of Milan, who know they need four points from the last two games to secure a first league title since 2010-11.

It is for that reason that Stefano Pioli did not want to change anything this week regarding the schedule on the approach to the game against Atalanta, despite the fact that the match is certainly different from the others.

It is the same programme to follow with the players having Tuesday off, the same menu in the kitchen, the same hotel and even the same music in the changing rooms. In a nutshell, if you entered Milanello today, you would experience the usual relaxed and serene atmosphere that has been present for some time.

The idea is to keep the squad and everyone connected to the club concentrated by having the same habits as always, so as not to risk jamming a mechanism that has been working well.
