Tuttosport: Pioli has two selection doubts to resolve in view of Torino’s visit

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will take on Torino at San Siro tomorrow night looking to put a dreadful run of form behind them and get back to winning ways.

On the eve of the game, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that there are two selection battles that Pioli is trying to resolve and is awaiting further indications on in today’s training session at Milanello.

The first is on the right flanks, with captain Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers vying for a starting position who could decide to use a 3-4-1-2 instead of the 3-5-2 seen in the derby against Inter.

The other doubt to resolve is in the three-man defence, with a duel between Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw for a spot alongside Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer. The Italian started in the defeat to the Nerazzurri while the German came off the bench and certainly made a good impression up against Romelu Lukaku.

  1. I’d rather see Gabbia than Kjaer.

Kjaer has played poorly every single game since he returned from injury. He’s severely out of form.

Also, his mistakes allowed the winning goal for Inter, and over the past few games, his mistakes have cost multiple goals.
