Pioli will be ‘detached’ watching Juventus vs Inter – ‘It no longer matters what others do’

By Mitchell Wilks -

Stefano Pioli has played down the significance of the clash between Juventus and Inter on Sunday evening, instead focusing on what remains of Milan’s season.

The Rossoneri sit at the top of the Serie A table with eight games to play and control their own fortunes, while Juventus and Inter battle to stay a very tight title fight.

Speaking in today’s presser ahead of Milan’s game against Bologna, Milan’s head coach spoke briefly about the Derby d’Italia: “Tonight I will look at it for sure, but very detached,” He explained.

“It no longer matters what others do,” Added Pioli, referring to the fact that Milan’s title hopes lie completely in their own hands.

Napoli’s victory over Atalanta brought them level on points with Milan on Sunday afternoon, but the Azzurri have played a game more then the Rossoneri.

Juventus sit one point behind Inter and seven points behind Milan, but the Nerazzurri have a game in hand on the Old Lady. The result could prove season-defining for either side.
