GdS: Pioli’s mission is to get the best out of Brahim Diaz – Empoli game will be the start

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the missions that Stefano Pioli has to get to grips with quickly is finding a way to get Brahim Diaz back into form, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how fielding Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie from the first minute against Napoli served its intended purpose, but against Empoli the Milan boss could go back to the classic 4-2-3-1.

This time, Pioli will rely on Brahim Diaz and in particular he hopes that he will provide the imagination and unpredictability that can help the Rossoneri overcome their struggles against bottom-half teams. Pioli’s new mission is to put Brahim back at the centre of his side and to rediscover the decisive and sometimes magical playmaker from the first few games of the season.

The move would also allow one of the three midfielders mentioned above to catch their breath, and Diaz must carry on from from the performance in the last league derby. Milan’s No.10 needs a 10 out of 10 ending to the season.
