Pioli praises Ibrahimovic’s ‘positive presence’ – the game he is aiming to return for

By Oliver Fisher -

It has been a long recovery road for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the knee surgery he underwent following the Scudetto win, but the end goal is in sight.

The striker is no longer young, having turned 41 earlier this month, and the intense playing for many years is starting to take a toll on his body. He has had a number of issues with his knee since returning to Milan midway through the 2019-20 season and he went under the knife a few months ago.

As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it write, Ibrahimovic is continuing to recover from the operation and unfortunately the Swede is still from returning to the field, although there have been no complications in the rehabilitation process.

The target for Zlatan and for the medical staff is for him to be available for the Supercoppa Italiana final against Inter on January 18th, perhaps challenging his ‘enemy’ Romelu Lukaku.

Pioli spoke about the former Malmo man during his press conference before the game against Monza tomorrow and praised Ibra’s attitude.

“He is never trivial in everything he says and does. It is a great help for everyone, it is a very positive presence. His recovery is progressing well, but the path is still long. He is working well.”
