Pioli responds to the idea Milan have lost their ‘spark’ and picks out failings vs. Torino – video

By Oliver Fisher -

It was another difficult night at the office for Stefano Pioli and his team as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Torino, further complicating the race for the Scudetto.

It means that Milan have failed to score in consecutive league games for the first time since 2018 and their destiny is now out of their hands because of Inter’s win against Hellas Verona. Pioli spoke to Milan TV after the game to reflect on the performance.

“We failed to build scoring chances a little clearer than those we built. We did everything to remove references to Torino, but we weren’t precise and intuitive to make the right play. The spirit and the performance was there, we tried until the end,” he said (via MilanNews).

Where can the spark be found?

“I don’t know if that’s the right term. You have to make the right choice at the right time. We were wrong in accuracy and timing when we could have scored.”

Why did the referee book you at the end?

“I don’t like the time lost through goalkeepers time wasting. Added time has nothing to do with it, we need to give rhythm. The rules must be respected, otherwise the goalkeepers must be booked.”

  1. Hahahaha lost their spark??? No. You have 1 idea tactically and we didn’t sign any reasonable attackers and still are looking at buying more defense for next season. This is the issue. We are overachieving we all know but still the disappointment of the past few months is real. Pioli is fine but will never take this team to glory.

  2. You are so dry in idea my friend
Is shame to have Maldini in your side and not to wine against low life team is shame
    Shame on you.
    Go coach Genova idiot
