GdS: Pioli to revolutionise Milan’s XI against Bologna – as many as 10 changes expected

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is battling the tough dilemma of keeping a consistent side against Bologna given how tight the top four race is versus rotating heavily in view of the second leg against Napoli.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning, it seems as though he will opt for the latter choice. As happens in video games, Milan are expected to make 10 changes to the team that beat Napoli in the Champions League two days ago.

Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria will be replaced by Alessandro Florenzi and Fode Ballo-Toure for tomorrow’s game in Bologna, while Malick Thiaw and Pierre Kalulu should be the centre-back pairing.

Both Tommaso Pobega and Aster Vranckx should get the green light in midfield and Charles De Ketelaere is expected to start against the Rossoblu too – the team he got his only assist against last year – with Alexis Saelemaekers, Ante Rebic and Divock Origi  completing the attack.

The Rossoneri will train at Milanello this morning before leaving for Bologna in the afternoon so more will be known after that session, however at the moment the indications are that Pioli will risk rotation (and a spot in the top four) to focus on repeating the performance against Napoli next week.

  1. Crappy lineup, but thats our bench. Good choice by pioli (if true). Guys looked gassed out against napoli in 2nd half. Starting 11 desperately need a break.
