AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has dropped a strong hint that Lucas Paqueta’s future lays away from AC Milan.
The Brazil international had a difficult 2019-20 campaign during which he failed to score a single goal, which has led to suggestions that the management no longer deem him part of the plans and he could be sold this summer.
It has been reported by several sources that both Ligue 1 side Lyon and LaLiga outfit Valencia are keen on the 23-year-old, and his sale could generate funds for Milan to strengthen in other areas.
Pioli spoke to the media who gathered at Casa Milan on Sunday afternoon ahead of the game against Bologna, and he was rather honest about Paqueta.
“He has some difficulties due to the positions we take on the pitch, he’s a player with particular characteristics, let’s see what the market brings,” he said (via MilanNews).
Last season, Pioli tried Paqueta in a number of different positions including his most natural spot as a trequartista, but nothing seemed to click for the former Flamengo star.
