Pioli reassures over Tomori’s condition and hopes injured players are ‘mostly available for Friday’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli gave some important updates on the conditions of some key players who were missing for tonight’s draw.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ante Rebic, Ismael Bennacer and Samu Castillejo did not leave with the team for the game against Torino tonight and therefore are not available for selection. Bennacer, Rebic and Castillejo have muscle fatigue while Ibrahimovic has suffered an overload in the left knee.

Meanwhile, Alessio Romagnoli, Alessandro Florenzi and Simon Kjaer were all injured too, and there was a moment of concern when Fikayo Tomori came off with a grimace on his face in the final stages of tonight’s game.

Pioli spoke to Milan TV after the game against Torino and was firstly asked about Tomori’s issue, downplaying the notion that it is anything to be worried about.

“Tomori was just tired, he had to start the whole match behind Belotti,” he said (via MilanNews).

Regarding the other absentees, Pioli was optimistic: “I hope they will come back as soon as possible, there is no injury but only fatigue. I hope they are mostly available for Friday.”
