GdS: Pioli’s tutelage at Milan grows even stronger – the leaders know they have the right man

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan leadership are feeling very happy with their decision to keep Stefano Pioli at the club and not to start a new cycle with Ralf Rangnick all that time ago.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) focuses on Pioli and his now famous song ‘Pioli is on fire’ which of course is not just a fun and meaningless chant from the squad but rather is almost metaphorical as it refers to the desire that burns inside to go beyond the limits. Flames of passion, if you will.

Pioli recently renewed his contract until 2023 and it is just another indication of how the chemistry between him and the club was created immediately. It is remarkable to think that in a few games the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss will enter the ‘top ten’ of the longest-serving Rossoneri coaches, and the feeling is that he is firmly in the hearts of the fans.

Elliott Management are fully behind him as are Maldini and Massara, and the players love him too. Many define his management of the group as ‘Ancelottiana’ of course named after Carlo Ancelotti. Since the time of Allegri, no one has lasted longer than Pioli on the Rossoneri bench, showing he is building a cycle.

  1. If Milan signed Rangnick, i doubt we see players like Calabria, Tonali, Tomori, Mike, Leao, etc on his disposal. Heck, i doubt Rangnick can used those players nor he can keep Milan at top table and get back to Champions League.

Pioli did a great job but sadly some people didn’t appreciate his works and they keep asking Maldini to fire him 😡

    1. Yeah, the people still calling on Pioli to go at this point are either trolls or just started watching football this season.
