Tuttosport: Pioli has two options in mind if Brahim Diaz does not recover to face Dinamo

Indications should arrive today regarding whether Brahim Diaz will be fit enough to make the trip to Croatia for the game against Dinamo Zagreb.

According to the latest from Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Pioli hopes to have Brahim Diaz available for the game in Croatia but he is being forced to think about how to line up if he is not fit enough to start.

There are two options to replace the Spaniard in the event he is not 100%: either Charles De Ketealere will play as a natural replacement in the playmaker role, or Pioli will elect to field a more physical player like Rade Krunic or Tommaso Pobega in an advanced role.

After fielding a double pivot consisting of Ismael Bennacer and Tommaso Pobega for the game against Monza on Saturday evening, it seems that Sandro Tonali will parter up with the Algerian again thus freeing Pobega or Krunic to play further forward.

  1. I wish Pioli would field CDK , but I think Krunic is better than Pobega as an AM… Pobega lacks the vision and aggressiveness to press.. he is more of a physical presence in the middle of the park, and I like him as a box to box midfielder than a CDM …. he’s got a good left foot!

  2. Why adapt a role without the right players ?
Can Pioli just go with a 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 formation and save us from embarrassment, we have enough midfielders who can comfortably play these above formations
