PM: Everything suggests Milan will beat Spurs and Sevilla to dream winger signing

By Oliver Fisher -

All the signs suggest that AC Milan will seal the signing of Florian Thauvin on a free transfer once the season ends, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Thauvin by several major sources over the past few weeks. According to PianetaMilan, Thauvin is considered by the Rossoneri management a player with the right experience and great technique, suitable for accompanying the Diavolo and their hopeful return to the Champions League.

The player would gladly accept a move to Milan too, because even though his last experience abroad at Newcastle didn’t end well he is now ready to take a risk again at the age of 28 and Milan ‘would represent a great and fascinating challenge’.

His contract with Marseille will expire on 30 June and therefore he could sign an agreement with Milan the next day, with the report adding how ‘everything suggests that we will go towards this solution’.

Thauvin has no plans to stay in Marseille, partly because the offers he has received are not convincing and also because he wants to play in a prestigious league. Milan’s only real challenger in the race for Thauvin could slip away soon too, as Sevilla have signed Papu Gomez.

Milan have sent a first offer sent to the French player’s entourage which is a four-year offer of €3m net per year, while the player wants €4m. With the inclusion of bonuses, the deal can go through.

Estadio Deportivo did recently report that Roma, Napoli, Leicester and Spurs are also interested.
