PM: Milan and Calhanoglu moving towards a renewal – the playmaker wants to stay

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are moving closer towards agreeing a new deal with Hakan Calhanoglu who wants to stay at the club, a report claims.

There has been a lot of media speculation regarding Calhanoglu’s contract situation, and not all of it has been entirely positive for Milan.

Calciomercato.com reported earlier in the week how the negotiations between the Rossoneri management and Calhanoglu began three weeks ago, but the playmaker has apparently asked for a salary of just under €7million net per season to renew.

This would be a huge increase from the current €2.5m and it was described as a ‘clear provocation’, but the Turkey international wants to renew at Milan and it is possible a compromise could be reached at €5m per season.

The report added that Inter made contact about a month ago, but these discussions stopped because the player wants to remain at Milan.

However, PianetaMilan journalist Salvatore Cantone has provided an update by claiming that Milan are always moving closer to securing the renewal of Calhanoglu.

He adds that the player wants to stay at San Siro which of course is a big boost for Milan in the negotiations.
