PM: Return of Chelsea midfielder appeals to Milan for three reasons but other issues are prioritised

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could indeed pursue the potential hypothesis of a return for Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea, according to a report.

According to the latest from PianetaMilan, there is indeed the possibility that Bakayoko could come back, but there are several teams interested in the player. Maldini and Massara have been evaluating the opportunity in the last few hours but it is not a priority, even if the Frenchman has remained very attached to the Rossoneri and would happily return.

Chelsea would like to raise some money from his sale and given the fact his contract expires in 2022, a loan with or without an option to buy seems very unlikely as he would have to renew. The London club cannot ask for a high amount, but Milan have other issues to address first.

The positives are three: it would be a low-cost coup, the player already knows the club well and he would give further physicality to the midfield department, complimenting Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer plus Sandro Tonali when/if he is bought outright.
