Tommaso Pobega is currently favourite to occupy the third midfield spot for the game against Inter on Sunday in what will be his first start in the derby.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write that Pobega should partner Sandro Tonali and Rade Krunic to play his first derby as a starter, which is another step in a journey that has taken him from the Allievi (younger age groups) to the Primavera and now to the senior side.
Pobega played for Ternana, Pordenone, Spezia and Torino on loan all of which helped him gain valuable experience for what was to come at Milan, and interestingly he scored four goals under Ivan Juric last season a as playmaker.
This year he scored against Dinamo Zagreb and Roma, appeared on the field 12 times and also made his debut for the national team, for half an hour against England and another 20′ against Hungary.
Pobega is about to graduate in economics, studies languages and has an open mind. He likes to cook in his spare time rather than watching other football games and earned the nickname Harry Potter from Gennaro Gattuso.
Mauro Bianchessi was the former Rossoneri youth sector manager and is now at Lazio. When asked about Pobega he always tells the same story about the secret mission to sign the 13-year-old Pobega from Triestina and every time he smiles.
“I arrived 2km from home, but the street was so narrow that my car couldn’t get through. His father came to pick me up in a Panda,” he said.
That was in January 2013, and ten years later Pobega will play in the derby as a starter which is a reward for the hard work and sacrifice. Before entering the San Siro he always listens to ‘Lose yourself’, and on Sunday he hopes it will inspire a derby win.
Seize the day lad!
I’ll donate my left nut for science if Pobega scores the winner on Sunday. 🙂
Pobega will score vs Inter
Maybe he will played well with three midfielder formation, just like he did when he played for Torino.
Fun Fact: Gattuso nicknamed him Harry Potter because he couldn’t understand what the f**k Pobega was doing on the field
Oh the coaching wizard who just got sacked? Again. I bet there’s plenty of things Rhino doesn’t understand in football.
Do you read ppls comments or u just look at a few words and then reply? U post waaaayyyyy to often
LOL….well it’s @bb – the kid is slow – can’t expect much
Like you have any room to talk Juro 🤣
Look who’s talking… 😀 😀 😀
Depends. If it’s scared lil girl like Juro, I don’t bother to read but might comment anyway. Just like now. Wait, was there a question for me earlier? Oh well…
So you’re counting how many times I post now? That’s nice. It means I’ve made an impression. 🙂
*Rino. Damn auto-correct! 😀
What a disastrous decision. When you think Pioli can’t get any worse.
Bennacer is injured, it’s him or Vranckx. Neither convinces me but it’s still smarter than starting Tata.
Give Vranckx a chance then. Let’s see what the kid can do. We already know about Pobega isn’t the solution. At least Vranckx has some physical attributes that can be helpful.
