AC Milan seem to be having a preference for Portuguese managers, with Ruben Amorim in line to become the third one in just two years.
This morning, it has been reported by various outlets (including Fabrizio Romano) that Amorim is the big favourite to become Milan’s new head coach. Indeed, the parties have an agreement in principle and now the final go-ahead is the only thing missing.

He wasn’t the Rossoneri’s first choice, that much is clear, but he has evidently done enough in the meetings with Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. His attacking style of football is said to be one of the positives, just like his desire for redemption.
Milan preference emerges
An interesting thing to note is that if appointed, then Amorim would become the third Portuguese manager to coach Milan in just the last two years. Paulo Fonseca was in charge for the first half of the 2024-25 season, and Sergio Conceicao took the second half.
Considering how it went for those two, there may be some concerns about Amorim, especially since he was heavily criticised for his time at Man Utd. Nevertheless, Milan have made him their top target for the time being and perhaps it could all be completed soon.

Glasner would have finished higher up the table if Crystal Palace didn’t sell off their top players to Arsenal and Manchester City. Glasner had Crystal Palace in the top 4 before all that madness started.
He’s a better coach than Amorim. Italiano, Jaissle, Motta and Farioli are all better than Amorim.
Conte is available for the 2nd time and these bozos still choose a Portuguese coach who failed miserably at Manchester United.

Yes and that’s why everyone including us wanted Iraola, but he (and for the right reasons) decided to go to Liverpool instead of us.
So, Iraola is a good coach who can manage a team even when his best players are sold while Glasner can’t.

Crystal Palace has never won any title prior to last season and now they have won the FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference league.
Their EPL ranking is bad, but I suspect that at some point they prioritized trying to get far or even winng the UEFA Conference League.
Don’t also forget them losing Guéhi to City and Mateta to an injury for many games.
But what did Amorim achieve ? He made Ten Hag’s reign which was pretty bad, look like an overachievement. He sometimes employs similar HaramBall tactics to Allegri or even worse. And before you mention him winning titles with Braga, reminder that Conceição also won a sh!t ton of stuff with Porto.
I’m not eager for Glasner, but we’re already scrapping at the bottom of the barrel.
For me the objectif next season is to not get relegated.
I am more interested in what a coach does in a league than In a cup competition, especially not those EPL one off FA Cup or Caribou cup. His league record is not good and that what he is going to be judged the most.
Conceicao won a trophy at Milan and took the team to the Copa Italia final. That wasn’t enough to keep his job because his serie A record was bad.
I feel most of our fans are concentrating too much on the cup competitions with Glasner and disregard his league record.
The pressure for Amorim was much higher than for Glasner at Palace.

How much more dumb can you be… He was fighting for trophies and he won them. Crystal palace are surviving team never care bout top 4 Bologna, Parma, Sasuolo used to be….. When last have they raised a trophy before now. So u want the coach for forfeit that for top 6 when she clearly sees the opportunity

After Crystal sold the best players they had the fact that he still managed to finish 15th is an achievement. He won the Europa League with Frankfurt, FA cup and community shield and conference league. So yes he deserves a chance more than Stubborn Portugese guy

Here’s the difference between Amorin and Poch. Amorin is rigid and more defensive. Poch is flexible and tries to put players in positions to succeed. Look at what he has done with the USMNt. No, they are not world beaters as they are limited skill-wise The problems have been on individual player errors. He also works with the team to play fluid and work together. His problem at PSG was the superstars want to only play like superstars. I am not advocating for him, just more being against Amorin.
