AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca is expected to make a number of big changes to the starting line-up for tonight’s game against Udinese compared to the team that lost to Fiorentina before the international break.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Mike Maignan and Emerson Royal will keep their spot, and while yesterday it seemed like being Matteo Gabbia alongside Strahinja Pavlovic at centre-back, the former is not 100% and it will be Malick Thiaw who pairs up with Fikayo Tomori rather than the Serbian.

Filippo Terracciano has also seen off Alex Jimenez in the battle to take the place of the suspended Theo Hernandez at left-back, with Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders remaining as the midfield double pivot.

Samuel Chukwueze is expected to come in on the right having shaken off an injury scare earlier in the week, with Christian Pulisic as the attacking midfielder and Noah Okafor on the left in place of Rafael Leao.

The Portuguese winger is having his minutes managed in view of a hectic schedule to come before the next break, with Alvaro Morata taking Tammy Abraham’s place and thus leading the line.

Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson, Thiaw, Tomori, Terracciano; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Pulisic, Okafor; Morata.

Predicted Udinese XI (3-5-2): Okoye; Kabasele, Bijol, Giannetti; Ehizibue, Lovric, Karlstrom, Ekkelenkamp, Zemura; Brenner, Lucca.

  1. Hope this is because Gabbia is being preserved for UCL.
Tomori deserved to be dropped after Fiorentina and he has played a lot of games.

But I can see that Pavlovic and Gabbia haven’t trained with Fonseca while they were on international duty.

  2. Look at our two flanks – 3 players who shouldn’t be anywhere near a Milan shirt and Okafor who needs to do much better 🙁

I’ve said all week I think Udinese will do us. This hasn’t helped.
