AC Milan face Verona on Friday night and the fixture has taken on an increased level of importance, due to the Rossoneri’s poor season.
There have been several shortcomings for Milan this season, and this has led the Rossoneri to a spot in eight in the Serie A table. Long story short, things cannot get any worse, so anything but a win tomorrow night could cause some changes, even if nothing is being considered currently.
Paulo Fonseca is not taking his chances, albeit he does not really have the flexibility to do so, and his team should look something like this, according to Milan News.
Mike Maignan, shockingly (not), remains in goal and he should be shielded by a defensive partnership of Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thiaw. On the right, Emerson Royal will be given the nod and after being tested there during training, Alex Jimenez should continue on the left flank.
In midfield, Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders should operate behind Mattia Liberali – who is set to be given his second consecutive start, again due to injuries though. Either side of him will be Samuel Chukwueze and Rafael Leao, with Tammy Abraham leading the line, although Francesco Camarda is making a late surge to earn a spot with Alvaro Morata set to miss the game.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Thiaw, Jimenez; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Liberali, Leao; Abraham.
Couldn’t we just play Jimenez on his Stronger side, and have Theo on the left? Jimenez will be an improvement on Royal in every department, but F9nseca refuses to acknowledge his golden boy is the worst defender in the club
Foseca is clown. Many times he could also use Pulisic on right flank. But he always use same false logic. We seen so many time Ruben Loftus – and that dude is over for professional footbal, Emerson Royal, who is Fode Ballo II, and Musah – Musah is still unexperienced and without big talent.
Calabria is the worst defender in the club. This lineup did not give up a single shot on goal in the previous game. Emerson actually played really well last match, had half the team’s shots on goal forcing two good saves from the keeper, and gave up nothing defensively. But don’t let that stop all the irrational hatred of him.
You are not really in a position to sit on your high horse and speak about people being irrational in fact quite the contrary.
u must b Brazilian or maybe interista,
Calabria in his worst/ un-fit is still better than royal,
maybe he’s not Milan standard but he’s better than royal = bToure 2nd
Honestly liberali is a talent but he’s not ready
My opinion is use the first team to get results and bring in the youths to cool off the game.
That would have been better. Fonsesca should opt for flat 3 midfielders of Musa, Fofana, and Reijnders. This will be better than having a 17 year old kid playing as 10 and get bumped by adults everytime he tries to do something.
These transfers should have never happened: Tammy, Musah, and Emerson.
Tammy- doesn’t know how to score as a forward (literally)
Musah- he’s regarded and registered as MF player, but he’s deployed better as right wing or RB ( lol, not even joke)
Emerson- attacking type of RB who doesn’t attack. (first two games, he leaves space for opponents to score after he went to attack lol.. now he’s afraid to move forward hah)
Usual story with milan. Here we go again with the same old story – this time it’s morata. (Sort of) plays one match and is out injured for the next four matches!!! Seems very much a milan tradition.
Why can we never get a strong, young and fit central attacker who can bang 18/20 goals in one season? The milan management that lost thuram to inter should be castrated for life!!!!!
I don’t see any point in starting Abraham again – he was rubbish against Genoa – no reason the expect anything different from him in this game.
I want to see a: 3421/343
Thiaw gabia tomori
Gimenez fofana rignders theo
Leao chukw
Morata
